Downtown Dubai · Sheikh Zayed Road
Seven courses, each inspired by a master painting, where dining and animation meet at the table.
Eat a Picasso, paint your salad like Pollock and bite into a Warhol soup can.
Four facts about the dinner
The idea behind the plates
The show's own word for it is Dineamation, a blend of dining and animation. The visuals, the storytelling and a little theatre happen around the food, and guests are part of the action rather than an audience.
Projection mapping is the technique of turning objects, often irregular ones, into surfaces for video projection; it is also called video mapping. Dineamation brings that kind of moving image to the table where you eat.
The evening names Picasso, Pollock, Warhol and Leonardo da Vinci among its seven. Picasso co-founded Cubism, Pollock poured paint onto canvases laid on the floor, Warhol painted 32 soup cans, and the Mona Lisa has hung in the Louvre since 1797.
The show is staged at Sofitel Dubai Downtown. Downtown Dubai is a two-square-kilometre district developed by Emaar, and its Burj Khalifa was ready for occupancy on 4 January 2010.

Seven stops around the table
Each course takes its cue from a painting. Picasso, Pollock, Warhol and Leonardo da Vinci are the names the show gives out; the stops below follow the shape of the night and are not a menu.
At the door
Your ticket includes a welcome drink and valet parking at Sofitel Dubai Downtown on Sheikh Zayed Road, so the evening opens with a glass in your hand and nowhere to circle for a space.
Dineamation
Dining and animation share the table, with eye-catching visuals and storytelling that put you inside the picture rather than in front of it.
Picasso
The show promises you will taste a Picasso. He co-founded Cubism around 1909, breaking a subject into planes and angles seen all at once.
Pollock
Here the table turns hands-on: you paint your salad Pollock style. Jackson Pollock poured paint onto canvases on the floor, and his drip period ran from 1947 to 1950.
Warhol
Andy Warhol's Campbell's Soup Cans were 32 canvases, first shown at the Ferus Gallery in Los Angeles in 1962. Yours arrives as something to bite.
Leonardo
The show pictures you dining with the Mona Lisa at Da Vinci's table. Leonardo had begun the portrait by 1503, and it has hung in the Louvre since 1797.
The last canvas
Seven courses add up to roughly two hours, and by the end every guest at your table has taken part in the show, not just watched it.
Allow about two hours in all. The ticket covers the welcome drink and valet parking, and any other drinks or extras are on top.
